Here is what was covered in the BSK session of Sunday, September 25, 2011:
I. Prayer & Yoga : This session involves regular mantra and shloka recitation by everyone, followed by a 30 minute yoga session.
II. Language Class:
Hindi and Gujarati language sessions
III. Noon Sandhya Session:
- Meditation for older kids
- Kirtan and Omkaar gunjan for younger kids, followed by the discussion and interactive question answer session on the importance of "Trikaal Sandhya" .
IV. Special topic (for younger kids) : -
This Sunday's topic was : Lord Rama's family and childhood
We discussed about the qualities and personality of Lord Rama,His patience,peaceful nature and behavior with others.
Children were told about how Lord Rama obeyed his parents and served in the Ashram of Guru Vasishtha,listened to satsanga,performed trikal sandhya,pranayam,japa and acquired Self-knowledge.
Apart from having above mentioned qualities, we discussed about Lord Rama and his brother Lakshmana's courage and skills as warriors.
This was an interactive session wherein we discussed with kids as to how they could try to behave the way Lord Rama did as a child.
V. Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta (for older kids) : -
We conducted a revision session of Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta's background and origin, which was followed by a discussion on Chapter 1 - "Arjun Vishaad Yoga"
This was followed by the recitation session on 1st shloka of Chapter 7 - "Gyaan Vigyaan Yoga".
Since this was the first shloka recitation session, it was little hard for the kids to grasp.
So we have decided to have the same session again for the interested kids.
